SAN FRANCISCO – January 6, 2026 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Harold Jones back to the firm’s San Francisco office as a shareholder. Harold returns to the firm after six years with Jackson Lewis, where he served as a principal since 2019. He is among several attorneys who recently returned to the firm after brief stints elsewhere, including Paul Rinnan in Houston, Frank Birchfield in New York, Michael Nacchio in Morristown, NJ, and Jennifer Santa Maria in San Diego.
For more than 20 years, Harold has collaborated with employers to address complex legal challenges. He has represented management across a diverse array of industries, including financial services, hospitality, healthcare, biotechnology, staffing, manufacturing, retail, transportation, and technology. His practice includes defending large and small employers in a broad spectrum of civil actions before California state and federal courts, as well as state and federal administrative agencies.
Harold maintains a robust advice and counsel practice, supporting employers with daily employment law issues in California. He routinely provides guidance on background checks, leaves of absence, the interactive process, reasonable accommodations, wage and hour compliance, employee discipline, terminations, employee handbooks, and severance negotiations. Harold also leads workplace investigations, leveraging ten years as an Oakland police officer to design and conduct thorough internal investigations.
“Harold’s return to Ogletree Deakins is a fantastic win for our team,” said Greg Cheng, San Francisco shareholder and member of the firm’s Board of Directors. “He returns with an exceptional track record in employment litigation spanning numerous industries, and his ability to guide employers through complex workplace challenges and provide practical, strategic solutions makes him an invaluable resource for our clients.”
Harold earned his J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law and his B.A. from San Francisco State University. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America© for Employment Law – Management every year since 2023.
