In her role as KM Content Counsel, Nancy updates, maintains and helps to manage the firm’s OD Comply: State Wage & Hour Issues, OD Comply: State Leave Laws, and OD Comply: Employment Applications subscriptions. She monitors and researches key labor and employment law developments and develops related content for these OD Comply subscriptions, which serve to advise employers on multi-state wage and hour, leave, and hiring compliance issues.
Prior to becoming KM Content Counsel, Nancy was Of Counsel in the firm’s Richmond office and focused her practice on employment litigation and employment counseling. She defended employers against discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation and business tort claims in federal and state courts and before various administrative agencies. Nancy also regularly prepared and reviewed employment policies, contracts and handbooks, conducted harassment and discrimination investigations, and assisted employers with best practices and litigation avoidance.
Nancy was listed among the “Legal Elite” for Labor & Employment (2016-2019) and for Lawyers Under 40 (2014 & 2015) by Virginia Business Magazine. She also has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Labor & Employment by Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine from 2013 to 2022.
Active in the Richmond community, Nancy served on the Associate Board for the Children’s Museum of Richmond from 2014 to 2020. She also was a member of the Executive Board of the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division from 2013 to 2019. From 2012 to 2014, she was a member of the Board of Directors of The Podium Foundation – a nonprofit organization providing Richmond high school students opportunities to explore their passion for literary arts.
