Recent executive orders on “illegal diversity, equity, and inclusion” and related agency actions impact how all employers approach issues of gender identity in the workplace. After stating in his inaugural address that the United States government’s official policy would be that “there are only two genders,” President Trump issued Executive Order (EO) 14168, “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Trust to the Federal Government.” This webinar will focus on EO 14168 and takeaways from related EOs on “gender ideology,” explore the implications of the directive to federal agencies to cease promoting “gender ideology,” and examine what the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) Acting Chair, Andrea Lucas, has already signaled as changes in EEOC interpretation, guidance, and enforcement.
